The Los Angeles Aqueduct

A lot has been written about William Mulholland and the Los Angeles Aqueduct and we are all familiar with both the positive and negative effects of the man and the project. Regardless of which side of the argument you fall into, it can be said without doubt that Los Angeles would not be what it is today if not for the vision (altruistic or greedy) of Mulholland, Putnam, and countless others.

For that reason I will forego further espousing any further (and probably redundant) opinions to the matter. Instead, I will only say that Los Angeles has been a city that continually and proactively manifests itself into its greatest self and current form. From a recalcitrant dusty pueblo to world-city, Los Angeles would not be here today in it’s current form without water.

Below are historical sites, road-side markers, and points of interest that are in one way or another associated with Los Angeles Aqueduct. I will continue to add to this list as our journey and interest take us to locations associated with this history.
