Welcome to Finding History (a trip through “space” examining time). The original intent of our journey was to visit all the California Designated Historic Landmarks. Discovering California is important, discovering its impact is amazing. Much like our geologic development, California’s history has been shaped by a myriad of pressures, stresses, and movements.

Through our travels we have come across National Historical Landmarks, Federal and State Parks, Points of Interest, Ghost Towns, Pioneer Cemeteries, etc. That search for history, perspective, and context –to help us see where we are going by understanding where we have come from– has expanded our curiosity nationally and internationally.

We have purposely kept the website and navigation simple so that your time can best be spent discovering those individual and events that have shaped society –to assist with your search we have added an alphabetized index on our Reference page. Should you notice any incorrect info, or simply would like to know more about a particular site, please let us know.
